Provenance & sustainability

Premium ingredients are essential for great tasting recipes. For us, it all starts with sourcing the best we can. Many of our base ingredients are British, selected with sustainability in mind.

We pride ourselves on the quality of the British meat we use – with an emphasis on welfare and traceability – all of the beef used in our products is from Red Tractor assured farms, the UK’s largest food standards initiative championing British food, farming and consumer safety.

We only use fish certified by GlobalGAP in our recipes, demonstrating that it has met rigorous standards for sustainable agricultural practices. GlobalGAP certification encompasses a comprehensive set of guidelines aimed at promoting environmentally friendly farming methods, promoting natural resources and ensuring food safety.

We source our egg from UK suppliers and only use British egg in our products, wherever possible, these are Free Range Eggs. Our ingredients are produced to high standards of animal welfare, hygiene and transparency in the supply chain for full traceability back to the farms if needed.

All milk and cheese used in our recipes is sourced from the UK and Ireland.

Palm Oil

We ensure that all products in our range that contain palm oil only include RSPO-certified (SG) sustainable palm oil. SG stands for segregated, which means the sustainable palm oil can come from different certified sources but is kept separate from ordinary palm oil throughout the supply chain.

Frank Dale Food - Packaging Sustainability

All products in the Frank Dale portfolio are no longer presented in black plastic but now feature in clear recyclable packaging and corrugated 100% recycled board. The revised packaging will result in 10 tonnes of black plastic per annum being saved from landfill.

Frank Dale Foods - Energy Sustainability

Energy & Water

As of November 2023, our energy contract supplier uses 100% green energy. We are currently working on a number of other projects which will enable us to run our Coldstore using solar power, and to process factory waste water on site by installing an effluent plant.
